#BEDN Blogvember Day 8: Day in the life

When I saw “day in the life” for the prompt today, I was nearly 100% sure I was not going to use that prompt. I mean, I’m off on maternity leave with no money and it’s usually raining….i’m not sure anyone wants to see me sitting around in my pjs watching Christmas 24.  Alas…I’ve decided to bore you with it anyway because I couldn’t quickly think of anything worth writing. Quality blogging at its best here, people!

6am.  I usually am awoken by the child around this time (technically i’m also normally woken up at 2am and 4am but i’m not counting these!).  I then either go into the lounge, heat up a coffee and watch the BBC’s sorry excuse for news (Hi Breakfast!-worst interviewers EVER!) or I lay in bed and try to convince my daughter to go back to sleep (sometimes this works but mostly not).

9am After waking my body up by this point, I then partake in breakfast, most recently this usually consists of porridge with sultanas and jam (although my stomach doesn’t seem too keen).

Late morning If i’m not going out somewhere, this is usually when Ophelia decides she wants to mess around on her tummy, so I let her do that until she gets bored/grumpy and then she usually goes to sleep.  Thrilling stuff so far eh?!

3pm/4pmish Around this time I usually try to get out for a walk if we haven’t been out earlier in the day, this is in the hope that she sleeps and to avoid her getting overtired (sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn’t).

7pm.  I usually hope that Ophelia is in bed by now so I can get on with all the stuff I need to do and want to do (sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn’t!).  On this occasion I: clean the bathroom, make chicken soup, play with the cat, put the washing out and do some exercise.    Productive!

11pm-12am I try to go to bed around this time (even though I hate going to bed early) in the vague attempt of getting some sleep before doing it allllll over again.

So there we have it, don’t you think that was fascinating and insightful?!
